An Israel Defense Forces soldier was killed on Thursday during a clash with Hamas gunmen in Gaza, the third Israeli soldier to die on the 13th day of Israel’s offensive in the coastal territory, according to a story in Haaretz.
Capt. Omer Rabinovitch, of the Golani infantry brigade, was killed in the northern Gaza Strip. Another soldier was lightly wounded in the incident. Rabinovitch’s death brought the IDF death toll to nine since it launched its ground operation against Hamas on Saturday.

Haaretz TV reported that food and supplies were allowed into Gaza during a three-hour cease-fire on Wednesday.Haaretz TV reported that food and supplies were allowed into Gaza during a three-hour cease-fire on Wednesday.

Haaretz also reported that the International Committee of the Red Cross on Thursday accused Israel of delaying ambulance access to the Gaza Strip and demanded it grant safe access for Palestinian Red Crescent ambulances to return to evacuate more wounded.
Red Cross relief workers said they found four starving children sitting next to their dead mothers and other corpses in a house in a part of Gaza City bombed by Israeli forces.
