St. Louis Park native Sharon Isbin, a Grammy Award-winning classical guitarist, has released a new album of British folksongs (4-3-09 AJW). Journey to the New World (Sony Masterworks) features folk legend Joan Baez and violin virtuoso Mark O’Connor. The album includes two world premieres, “Joan Baez Suite,” written for Isbin by John Duarte, and O’Connor’s “Strings and Threads Suite.” Baez provides vocals on “Wayfaring Stranger” and “Go ’Way from My Window.” Baez said, “Sharon’s exquisite playing allowed me to revisit and fall in love with these songs all over again.” For information, visit: www.sharonisbin.com. — E.E.
