October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The second annual Step-Up-4-Sharsheret Walkathon will be held on Sunday, Oct. 20.
The event begins at 12 p.m. at Kenesseth Israel Congregation, 4330 W. 28th St., St. Louis Park, and will include a 1-mile or 6-mile walk/run to and around Lake of the Isles.
At 2 p.m. at Kenesseth Israel, there will be a panel discussion with Dr. David Potter, a University of Minnesota cancer researcher, and his colleague Dr. Douglas Yee.
Dr. Alison Levitt of Park Nicollet Clinic, who started Dr. in the Kitchen, will give new recipe demonstrations.
The event will also include information booths about Sharsheret, nutrition and exercise (with body fat and BMI testing). The Park Nicollet Mammo-A-Go-Go Van will be available for tours.
Sharsheret, is a breast cancer awareness, support and education organization for Jewish women. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
