No longer a Twin, Craig Breslow is scooped up by the Oakland A's

The American Jewish World wrote about Craig Breslow, the only Jew on the Minnesota Twins roster, last year and last month. Released on waivers this week, the Oakland A’s grabbed the lefty reliever.
Breslow, who is a Yale University graduate and has medical school as a fallback option, told MLB.com that he was “grateful for the opportunity” that he had in Minnesota.

“Now I’m grateful for the opportunity that Oakland is giving me,” Breslow commented. “I hope I can get off to the start there that I had here [in 2008].”
He added: “I felt like in the last few weeks I was throwing the ball better. I also understand that there’s a business side in this and sometimes that gets lost. It’s a business thing. It’s not about friendships. It’s about making business decisions.”
Breslow, who had his most active and successful season in the big leagues with the Twins last year, had some rough outings in the early going this season. However, the entire Twins bullpen has been inconsistent, and at times just plain awful, so perhaps the Twins organization was obliged to change things up and Breslow ended up getting the boot.
Twins fans might see Breslow in action again at the Metrodome, when Oakland comes here for a three-game series in September.
