The Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company (MJTC) will stage the regional premiere of Becoming Dr. Ruth, a solo show featuring Miriam Schwartz, Aug. 20-30 at the Highland Park Center Theater, 1978 Ford Pkwy., St. Paul. It is directed by Craig Johnson.

The show tells the life story of Dr. Ruth Westheimer, who is renowned for her career as a pioneering sex therapist. But few are aware of her early life as Karola Ruth Siegel — from fleeing the Nazis in the Kindertransport and becoming an Israeli sniper, to struggling as a single mother in the United States.
