Actors Theater of Minnesota will present a return engagement of Princess Diana the Musical, by award-winning songwriter Karen Sokolof Javitch, and author and actress Elaine Jabenis.
The work, which had its Minnesota premier in July, will run Nov. 1-Dec. 1 at the Cabaret Theater in Camp Bar, 490 N. Robert St., St. Paul.
The play follows “The People’s Princess” on her journey from an unknown 17-year-old to the most famous woman in the world. Princess Diana will be played by McKayla Marso, under the direction of Ross Young with musical direction by Kevin Dutcher.
Wendy Freshman, who has acted in the Minnesota Jewish Theater, portrays the Queen Mum.
The musical includes more than 30 original songs, and the soundtrack is sold internationally. Proceeds from the music have benefitted a variety of charities, especially those that were Princess Diana’s favorites.
Each attendee will receive a free CD of the music in the play.
