On the 100th anniversary of Martin Buber’s ‘I and Thou’


The American Jewish World is accepting applications for two summer internship positions:

Editorial Internship

The AJW editorial intern will assist with editing and proofreading copy, conducting phone and in-person interviews, and proposing and writing feature stories. Additional duties will include helping out with all aspects of the annual Community Guide and general office tasks as assigned.

The editorial intern must have general knowledge of writing in a journalistic style. They must also be a self-starter and able to complete tasks on deadline. Schedules can be flexible, but general availability (Monday through Friday) is preferred.

Current college students, as well as 2012 high school graduates, are encouraged to apply.

To apply, e-mail a cover letter, résumé and two to three writing samples to: community@ajwnews.com.

New Media Internship

The AJW new media intern will be responsible for updating and maintaining the Web site as well as AJW’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. The intern must also be able to troubleshoot network and Web site issues, and be willing to work with staff on creating new avenues of outreach. Schedules can be flexible.

High school and college students are encouraged to apply.
