The Talmud Torah of St. Paul (TTSP) has announced that it will lease a portion of its space to Cyber Village Academy (CVA).
CVA is a charter school sponsored by Minneapolis Public Schools and supported by the Minnesota Department of Children, Families and Learning (Department of Education). As previously announced, TTSP will move to a K-4 program as a result of declining enrollment.
“This is an innovative way to help keep our programs running during these challenging times, while sharing the outstanding resources our facility offers with another educational community,” Lisa Cohen, chair of the TTSP board of directors, said in a press release.
Sara Lynn Newberger, TTSP’s director of education and principal of the Annette Newman Day School, said both schools share similar goals.
“The partnership also makes sense in that our two institutions share common values of honesty, self-reliance, integrity, compassion, and responsibility,” she said. “We both focus on drawing out the best in each student and encourage a passion for life-long learning and excellence.”
CVA serves children in grades three through eight with its academic programs including the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program for grades six through eight. Most CVA students attend on-campus three days per week and complete online learning activities two days per week from their homes.
“For CVA, the building offers a school environment with sophisticated resources that will better serve our population,” CVA Director David Alley said.
