In 1939, this young Unitarian couple left their two young children and their home in Massachusetts, and went to Czechoslovakia, where they rescued hundreds of Jews. They then went on to France, where they again saved hundreds.

A new film titled Journey to Freedom: The Story of Martha and Waitstill Sharp will be shown 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 at the First Unitarian Church, 3400 Dupont Ave. S., Minneapolis. It is free and open to the public.

For information, call the church at 612-825-1701 or visit: www.firstuniv.org. For information about the film, visit: journeytofreedomfilm.com.
