Aish Minnesota offers Rosh Hashana explanatory prayer experience

Aish Minnesota will host free explanatory services for the High Holidays. Services are designed to “engage your heart and your mind in understanding what this unique Jewish New Year means and its relevance in your life today.”

All services and meals will take place at 2800 Joppa Ave. S., St. Louis Park.

• The First Day Rosh Hashana service will take place on Monday, Sept. 17. An introduction and explanatory morning prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by “Understanding the Torah Portion of the Day” at 11:15 a.m., the shofar sounding at 11:30 a.m. and the”¨ Musaf service at 11:45 a.m. A”¨ festive Kiddush will take place at the conclusion of services (no charge).

• A talk and evening service will take place 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, followed by a festive holiday meal. The cost for the meal is $36 per family up to members, $45 for families with six or more or $10 for individuals; for ”¨JWRP alums, the cost is $30 per family or $8 for individuals; and for ”¨Birthright alums, the cost is $8 for individuals.

• Second Day Rosh Hashana services will take place on Tuesday, Sept 18. ”¨An introduction and explanatory morning prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by ”¨”Understanding the Torah Portion of the Day” at 11:15 a.m., shofar sounding at 11:30 a.m. and”¨ Musaf service at 11:45 a.m.”¨ A Festive Kiddush will take place at the conclusion of services (no charge).

• Yom Kippur will be marked with Kol Nidre 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25.

• Yizkor (Remembrance for the Lost Loved Ones) and Musaf will take place 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, followed by a Break Fast at 7:30 p.m. The cost for the meal is $25 per family up to five members, $30 for families six or more or $5 for individuals;”¨ for JWRP alums, the cost is $20 per family or $3 for individuals, and for Birthright alums, the cost is $3 for individuals.
