Yiddish Vinkl

minneapolisyiddishvinkl.com
Co-Chairs: Dorothy Marden, 612-339-1768, marden@umn.edu; and Annalee Odessky, 952-544-5423, annalee26@aol.com
The group exists to explore and remember our roots, and to keep our language alive through history, literature, music, news, films and our life stories. This is a friendly, “heymish” group, and all levels of ability are welcome. Most of our programs are in Yiddish, but English is spoken as well. In-person meetings have been suspended for COVID-19 safety; normally we meet one Sunday a month at the Sabes JCC, September through May, with a winter break — no meetings January or February. Members receive mailed flyers of the various events. All programs are open to the public. Yiddishkeit at its best. All programs include a nosh and schmooze. Membership is $15 a year for JCC members, $20 a year for all others, or $5 per guest per meeting. Price varies for special concerts based on venue or artists.
