The Sabes JCC and the St. Paul JCC have announced the film line-up of the Twin Cities Jewish Film Festival, which will run Oct. 22–Nov. 1. This festival will bring the community together featuring award-nominated feature films, documentaries and shorts from around the world on themes of Jewish culture and identity.
Prior to the official opening of the festival, The Age of Love will be screened 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19 at the Sabes JCC. This film follows the humorous and poignant adventures of 30 seniors in Rochester, N.Y., who sign up for a first-of-its-kind speed dating event exclusively for 70- to 90-year-olds.
Opening night will feature To Life (A La Vie) 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 at the Sabes JCC, preceded by the opening night reception at 6 p.m. Auschwitz survivor Helene rebuilds her life in postwar Paris while searching for her friends, Lily and Rose. When the three women are reunited, they holiday at a seaside resort in northern France, enjoying the intimacies of life, love and faith.
