The Sabes JCC will present an all-youth production of the recent Broadway hit, 13, by Tony award-winning composer, Jason Robert Brown, and directed by Adam Arnold. Performances will take place 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, July 28 and 29; and 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30 at the JCC, 4330 Cedar Lake Rd. S., St. Louis Park.

13 follows NYC-born Evan Goldberg, a young Jewish boy turning 13 years old. Evan is suddenly faced with the challenge of being the dreaded “new kid” after having to move from the big city to small-town, Indiana. He is also under pressure to plan the best Bar Mitzva possible, make the “right” friends and ultimately fit in.

The play will include participants in the 2010 Summer Musical Theatre Institute — local youth ages 12 and older, who will have spent the past five weeks rehearsing the show, learning songs and dance choreography, and participating in acting and design workshops.

The show will feature Jack Bass, Michaela Diamond, Selina Hampton, Geordy Levin, Lucina Lynch, Aleeza Mandel, Max Mars, Gita Nagle, Talia Neidorf, Polina Pekurovsky, Karina Radin, Megan Searls, Shaina Shagalow, and Albie Sher.

Tickets are $10 for the general public, and $5 for Sabes JCC members and students; visit: www.sabesjcc.org or call 952-381-3499.
