In January 2013, KU Hillel will take 40 students on a free 10-day trip to Israel. KU Hillel’s Taglit-Birthright Israel trip is open to all Jewish 18- to 26-year-olds who have not been to Israel before on a peer-organized trip.

Registration for the trip begins Monday, Sept. 10, for applicants who have previously applied for Taglit-Birthright Israel, and Wednesday, Sept. 12, for new applicants.

Over the new few weeks, KU Hillel interns and past Birthright participants will work to ensure that each eligible student has the chance to apply for this opportunity. Many of these interns are former Birthright participants.

“I had a great experience in Israel when I went on Birthright,” Brittany Rubenstein, a KU Hillel intern from Plymouth, Minn., said in a press release. “I was a little nervous to go at first, but once I met everyone I knew it was going to be amazing. It was an experience I will never forget and I’m so glad I took the opportunity while I had the chance.”

For information on the Taglit-Birthright Israel trip, contact Carly Stein at: carly@kuhillel.org or register online at: www.kuhillel.org.

Can someone from Kansas who is attending Grinell College in Iowa also attend this trip? Also, will this interfere with classes? My grandaughter, who is 18 is in her first year of College. I wanted to find out if she could qualify before I told her about it.
