Anyone familiar with Gregory Alan Isakov will have experienced the magical silken threaded balance he uses to engage the listener. I still can’t explain why he leaves me with such a great calm but those gentle melodies and voice will set you adrift. Gregory Alan Isakov returns to the Cedar Cultural Center 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28. His last and memorable show at the Cedar was in October 2011. Four years after his ground-breaking This Empty Northern Hemisphere, Isakov has a new album, The Weatherman, so the Cedar show will be an opportunity to hear his new songs.
New England singer-songwriter Jeffrey Foucault (also of Redbird) opens.
For tickets ($14 advance, $17 day of show), call 612-338-2674 Ext. 0, between 12 and 4 p.m. ($2 fee per ticket). Tickets also are available from Ticketweb (typically $2 to $3 fee per ticket).
The Cedar Cultural Center is located at 416 S. Cedar Ave., on the West Bank of Minneapolis.
