This Synaplex weekend will help participants to make a difference. During the morning, there will be specific opportunities to connect to volunteer projects, and to match personal interests, skills and time with projects that are a good fit.

Saturday morning activities will include: “Striving to Be Good: The Ethical Impulse in Rabbinic Judaism”; “Matchmaker, Matchmaker, How Can I Help?”; “A Jewish Response to the Foreclosure Crisis”; Meditation Yoga; and fair trade coffee and conversation in the Synaplex Coffee House.

Following lunch, there will be a panel discussion titled “Issues the Jewish Community Cares About: Working with the Legislature to Get Your Voice Heard.” Panelists will include: Judy Cook, lobbyist and senior partner with Cook Girard Associates; Ethan Roberts, director of the JCRC’s Twin Cities Jewish Community Government Affairs Program; and Vic Rosenthal, executive director of JCA. Adath Jeshurun Rabbi Harold Kravitz will moderate the discussion.

The community is welcome to participate.

This special Shabbat is sponsored by Adath Jeshurun’s Hesed (Social Justice/Loving Kindness) Committee and JCA. It is generously supported by the Burton and Marty Abramson Fund and the Ken and Sally Appelbaum Fund of the Adath Jeshurun Foundation.

For a complete schedule of weekend activities, visit: www.adathjeshurun.org or call the synagogue at 952-545-2424.
