Alexander Muss High School in Israel is a two-month study abroad program for high school juniors and seniors where the country becomes the classroom and students learn 4,000 years of history in chronological order. This college-level program allows students to discover, explore and embrace their connection to the heritage, culture, people and land of Israel. Students earn full high school credit and may also earn up to six-semester college credits. This amazing experience is offered each quarter of the school year and summer.

The United Jewish Fund and Council of St. Paul offers Israel Experience Scholarships to Jewish children and young adults, ages 13-22. Applicants who are planning their first trip to Israel will receive priority. Programs must be sponsored by a reputable organization and have a strong educational component.

The Louis Herman Israel Experience Fund provides grants that help Minneapolis teenagers travel to Israel. The fund was designed to give Jewish teens an incentive to get involved in the Minneapolis Jewish community. Minneapolis residents between the ages of 15-18 can be eligible for a grant.

Partnership: Minneapolis/Israel, an initiative of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation, seeks to establish significant, meaningful and long-term relationships between Jews in Israel and Minneapolis. Since 1997, Minneapolis has partnered with the Kinneret Region in northern Israel, which includes Tiberias, the Jordan Valley and the Lower Galilee. Programs making an impact within the Partnership include the Education Bridge, Physicians’ Exchange and Birthright Israel.

Passport to Israel is a savings incentive program that encourages families to start saving early for a child’s educational Israel experience. The United Jewish Fund and Council of St. Paul administers this community partnership with families, sponsoring congregations and participating organizations. Families contribute $150 each year to their child’s passport fund and receive matching funds from their participating synagogue and the UJFC.

Partnership 2000 is a program of the United Jewish Fund and Council of St. Paul, which brings Diaspora and Israeli Jews together to help establish long-term bonds — leading to understanding and a mutual commitment for a strong, united Jewish future. St. Paul, together with Milwaukee and Tulsa, have partnered with the Sovev Kinneret region. Programs include the Education Bridge and opportunities to volunteer in the region.
